mbHello everyone, and welcome to The Damien Pratt link at Trolley Bus website. I am The Damien Pratt, and not long ago I sent Yoshi a copy of my cd entitled "from the tapes of Lenny Bruce vol.2". and is kind enough to put out my next cd, which should be out on Trolley Bus early next year. bbLet me try and sum up what I've been up to since being delivered out of my mother's womb long ago. I can remember being a child and riding in my parents car fascinated by what I heard on the radio. Songs I heard seem to be the backdrop of my childhood. I bought my first guitar when I was fifth grade. I saved up the money from my paper route. Soon I went through many musical phases listening to lots of heavy metal and of course, the Beatles and beach boys. bdWhen I was fourteen, I was exposed to punk rock. I remember watching a Husker Du concert, and from there I was hooked. It was like nothing I had heard before. My friend and me started to record direct into a 2-track tape machine, recording punk covers and silly originals. In 1988, I had my first experience recording on a reel-to-reel 8 track machine. I was fascinated by recording process and found that it was my true love. fdSince then, I have made many home recordings, studio misadventures, tapes and 7 inches. In 1996 I started to write and record songs for my first cd. I used many different sources and techniques. I recorded songs in my parents' basement on four track using cardboard boxes and pans from my mother's kitchen. I also recorded on digital equepment, reel-to-reel 4 and 8 track, and minidisks. 2 years of recording, I rounded up most of my songs and put them on my first cd. bdNow we come to the present. I am writing songs for my Trolley Bus release, and you can always find me playing out up and down the east coast in the US.
